Gori has officially opened its latest warehouse in Interporto Vespucci, Livorno Italy. The new warehouse will be entitled to Gori’s former President and friend, Angelo Caponi, who has recently passed away. It will hold an excess of 12000 pallets, this multi-user facility will accommodate our wine and spirits customer’s products bound for export.
Gori will maximize pallet storage and through put capacity employing the latest WMS systems fully designed for the Wine and Spirit industry.
Featuring a full racked high bay, the warehouse is temperature controlled, bonded Excise and Duty as well as AEO and CTPAT certified. High security standards with alarms and CCTV as well as strict admission regulation of the Interporto area, will protect our precious cargo.
The warehouse will also provide parking for upto 65 Full container Vehicles, as well as an onsite weigh bridge.
Strategically located with easy access to the FI-PI-LI (highway that connects Florence to Livorno port) and 5 km away from Livorno port, the site benefits from outline planning permission for 10,000 sqm of logistics development, providing the potential to almost double the size of the operation in the future in a second building, if required.
As part of DHL’s commitment to reduce logistics-related emissions to net zero by 2050, the new development will feature a number of energy-saving innovations that far exceed current regulations for a building of its type, including daylight harvesting, intelligent LED lighting, grey water harvesting for welfare facilities.
Despite the difficult moment that the world is currently living in, Gori is still investing and growing; this latest addition to the existing Gori facilities dedicated to Wine and Spirits will bring the total square meter capacity in Italy, fully dedicated to the wine and spirits industry, to over 100.000 sqm with a capacity storage of over 7 Milion of 9 liter cases!
The new ‘’Wine cellar’’ is ready to boost the export of the Italian wineries.
