IMO: the 2020 Global Sulphur Limit

Starting from 1 January 2020, in order to reduce the amount of sulphur oxide emanating from ships,  IMO has set a limit for sulphur in fuel oil used on board ships of 0.50% mass by mass for ships operating outside designated Emission Control Areas.

This new regulation will bring major health and environmental benefits for the world, especially for people living close to ports and coasts.
